Reflux and Heartburn Program

Reflux and Heartburn
Gastroesophageal disorders are extremely complex and affected by numerous factors including our swallowing mechanism, weight, eating habits, and the ability of our esophagus, stomach, and other digestive mechanisms to function correctly. When any aspect of this complex system isn’t working properly, bothersome and even dangerous symptoms can occur. Dr. Richardson provides patients with personalized treatment plans for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), its complications and related disorders. We help people who have tried over-the-counter and prescription medications and lifestyle changes find more permanent solution.
Surgery and other procedures performed for esophageal and gastric conditions are a subspecialty of General Surgery called Foregut Surgery. Dr Richardson is a founding member of the American Foregut Society and was one of the first 20 physicians in the world (one of the first 8 surgeons) to receive designation as a Fellow of the American Foregut Society.
